About
Hi there! I'm the eye behind The Stray Lens, and I believe the most beautiful moments are often the fleeting, unique ones that shouldn't be forgotten. For over a decade, I've honed my craft as a self-taught photographer, driven by a deep appreciation for genuine connection and a distinct aesthetic.
My heart truly belongs to animals with a free spirit—especially the independent and uniquely expressive, much like cats, who navigate the world on their own terms. Perhaps it's because I'm a bit of a "stray" myself; I prefer to wander off the beaten path, seeking out what truly moves me rather than following the crowd. This personal philosophy deeply informs my work.
When I approach a session, my priority is always the animal's comfort. I take my time, letting them get used to my presence without any pressure. My goal isn't to force a pose, but to simply capture their true nature as it unfolds. I use minimal stimulation, just enough to gently bring out their unique personalities. The photographs I create are about authenticity. I want viewers to instantly recognize the animal's true self, sparking memories and freezing those cherished connections in time.
Ultimately, through The Stray Lens, I hope to provide a space where all "strays"—the unconventional, the independent, and yes, especially those in need of homes—can be truly seen. My aim is to help them get to the place they deserve to be, celebrating their beauty and aiding in their journey toward adoption and a loving future.
